Pathways to Success 2024 offers support to young people aged 16 to 25 who are not in education, training or employment (NEET). The programme is open to young people who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), are in care or are care leavers.
A dedicated Adviser is assigned to meet their specific needs and ensure they develop the necessary skills to return to education, training, or to get a job.
The young people meet regularly with their SfYP Adviser at one of our young people's centres, so they can explore what other support is available to them.
Bespoke support for the young person includes:
- Providing impartial careers information, advice and guidance from an allocated SfYP Adviser
- Developing and identifying the skills needed for work
- Assisting with CV writing, searching for jobs, and preparing for interviews
- Reviewing and enhancing the young person’s online presence, including the effective use of LinkedIn and other social media platforms
- Facilitating work experience opportunities, including job matching
- Referring young people to youth work projects appropriate for their needs
- Encouraging engagement with Youth Workers about a range of topics, through groupwork or individually
- Raising awareness of support available at our young people's centres, for example the Care Leaver Hubs
