The Services for Young People Employment Pathways programme is for young people aged 16-25 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
The programme is running until March 2025 in the following districts: Broxbourne; Dacorum, North Herts, St Albans, Stevenage, Watford, Hertsmere and Welwyn Hatfield.
On joining the programme young people are allocated a dedicated SfYP Adviser who they meet one-to-one at their local SfYP young people’s centre.
The programme includes:
- Impartial careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG)
- Help with developing employability skills
- Support with CV writing, job searching and preparing for interviews
- Reviewing and enhancing the young person’s online presence, including the effective use of LinkedIn and other social media platforms
- Work experience, including 12-hour and 70-hour placements
- Referral to maths and English courses where appropriate
As well as meeting their SfYP Adviser for one-to-one support, young people can also explore what other support is available to them, for example, joining a youth work project to help with their confidence, self-esteem and independent living skills.
Participants receive a £25 voucher once they have completed the programme and started a course or job. They can also get up to £75 to support with transport costs, work clothing etc.
Please use the SfYP referral form to refer a young person to the programme. This can be completed by a professional working with the young person, a parent/carer or the young person themselves.
