Services for Young People (SfYP) is an integrated young people’s service with many staff who have a nationally recognised professional qualification in either youth work or careers guidance, along with extensive experience in a relevant area such as informal education, or employment and skills. Youth Support Workers
- Permanent contract
- £23,496 to £24,799 per year pro rata (£12.21 - £12.88 per hour)
- Join your local youth work team at SfYP evening youth work projects. Choose from the following:
Two 2.5 hour sessions (5 hours a week)
Three 2.5 hour sessions (7.5 hours a week) or
Four 2.5 hour sessions (10 hours a week)
- Help deliver curriculum-based groupwork projects and one-to-one support to achieve set outcomes for young people
- Comprehensive training and excellent career development opportunities, including certificates in Youth Work Practice
- Pension scheme with generous employer contributions
- Some experience of working with young people required

Youth Support Workers
Youth Support Workers in Charge
- Permanent contract
- £27,434 to £30,750 per year pro rata
- 18 hours a week, including four 2.5 hour evening sessions per week during term-time. Flexible daytime hours. Additional hours often available.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate curriculum-based groupwork projects and one-to-one support to achieve set outcomes for young people
- Lead a team of 4-5 Youth Support Workers and Volunteer Youth Workers
- Comprehensive training and excellent career development opportunities, including certificates in Youth Work Practice
- Pension scheme with generous employer contributions
- Some experience of youth work required
- Vacancies in Stevenage, Welwyn Hatfield, St Albans and Three Rivers districts

- JNC Qualified £31,528 - £33,946 per year
- Unqualified £27,434 - £30,750 (Successful unqualified applications will be fully funded to complete a JNC higher education qualification)

- Commit to a minimum of one session (2.5 hours) a week
- Help diverse groups of young people to increase their knowledge, confidence and skills through curriculum-based youth work programmes

Volunteer Youth Support Workers
About youth work
Services for Young People is the primary provider of youth work in Hertfordshire. As a youth worker you would deliver planned curriculum programmes to achieve set outcomes for young people through groupwork and one-to-one support.
Could you help us to support young people with subjects such as:
- Emotional and mental wellbeing
- Building confidence, self-esteem, resilience and independent living skills
- Recognising and developing safe and healthy relationships and looking after their sexual health
- Smoking, substance and/or alcohol misuse
- Understanding the risks of involvement violence, gangs, crime or antisocial behaviour
You would be giving young people support at an early stage before issues are seriously affecting their daily life, health, development or safety.

About CEIAG and WRL
As a careers education guidance professional at SfYP you would be providing impartial careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) and work experience and work-related learning (WRL) as part of our traded services for schools and colleges. You would also work in close partnership with Youth Workers in your team to provide information, advice and support at our young people’s centres, addressing any issues that may be preventing young people fulfilling their potential.
