Ofsted and Care Quality Commission seeking feedback on SEND support in Hertfordshire

27 June 2023

Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission have begun an inspection in Hertfordshire to assess the effectiveness of local arrangements for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Over the next three weeks, Hertfordshire County Council will undergo an inspection to evaluate the support provided to children and young people with SEND in the area. The inspectors are particularly interested in understanding how local provision enhances young people’s experiences and outcomes.

An important part of this process is hearing from young people, their families and practitioners about things that are going well and where support needs to improve.

There are three surveys available:

  • One for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND aged 0-25
  • One for young people aged 11-25
  • One for practitioners who work with children and young people with SEND in Hertfordshire

The anonymous surveys are open until 4 July 2023. If you are a practitioner, parent or carer, please share the link with any young people you know or work with. This will ensure their views are included, helping us to provide the best possible support for young people with SEND in Hertfordshire:
