National Youth Work Week is an annual celebration of youth work across the UK and highlights the positive impact youth work has on young people. Services for Young People (SfYP) will be celebrating the achievements of young people resulting from their engagement with our services and raising awareness of the support we offer.

To celebrate the National Youth Work Week 2024 theme: ‘A right to youth work for all – delivering positive futures for young people’, young people attending SfYP projects will be completing themed activities alongside the programmed project curriculum. The theme aims to highlight the many ways that youth work spaces are made accessible to all and how they enable young people to explore and celebrate their own identity and values. Activities will include creating artwork which illustrates the richness of diversity within our youth work projects, including gender, race, disability and cultural identity.

Four Young People’s Awards events will be taking place during the week to recognise the achievements that young people have made as a result of the support they have received from SfYP over the previous academic year. These awards highlight the positive impact that both SfYP Youth Workers and Advisers have had in enabling young people to overcome challenges and fulfil their potential.

Our youth workers will also have a presence in schools across Hertfordshire during the week, delivering assemblies and lunchtime information sessions to promote the service.
